In the T.J. Smull College of Engineering, you’ll obtain a strong foundation in the field of computer engineering. You’ll take courses in embedded systems, computer architecture, networking, security, electronics, and computer programming. If you’re passionate about a particular subject – like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, renewable energy, software engineering or robotics – you can choose from a variety of upper-level elective courses in these areas. If your interest lies more in coding, our computer science degree may be the right fit for you.
Your computer engineering education will blend challenging coursework with hands-on, practical experiences. You'll work on team projects and solve software engineering challenges for actual clients as early as your first year. By the time you are a senior, you will tackle a capstone project that will use all that you've learned. You'll apply the knowledge you learn in class, but, more importantly, you will have the opportunity to hone skills in leadership, teamwork, creativity, entrepreneurship, & critical thinking. These skills will help you find a job and land that promotion.
